Hurray

Hades is handed in! There are still a few things I want to get done on it for the crit thought, such as some of the things which have been so far cut out. And maybe custom UI screens!

Cerberus

This is a model John did for the caves of cerberus based on my original designs, I then added these particle effects in the engine.

Kismet for hades

This is a shot of the current kismet sequences used for Hades, I am aware of how horribly messy it is but when I'm learning something I tend not to worry too much about the layout :P then when it works I dont want to touch it for fear of breaking it!

Cave

This is the cave where you will find the golden stick which is needed in order to cross the bridge.

A bridge!

after some thought we decided it would solve more problems (and also be pretty cool) to have a bridge across the river which Charon guards. The story we have devised is that the traditional boat has been replaced with a more modern way of crossing. the old docks and boat can be seen wrecked on the shore of the river.

and here is a picture!I wanted it to be an imposing and terrifying experiance to cross over the waterfalls and I fell this bridge represents that feeling. I based the designs on drawbridges from castles.

I built the bridge was built out of sections:

And this is the forest as it looks right now

I'm not sure about the lightness. I've been told it's too dark on some screens, but on other screens anything lighter looks wrong :(

Update

This is a screenshot of the current build:

To achieve the cliffs around the forest, I made a model of a chuck of rock and layered them around the edges of the cliffs, the dark lighting on the level meant I didn't need to build them up all the way, just enough to give an impression that the rock carries on much further.

I also made a snowy version of these rocks for the soul tree area:

Almost crunch time!

There's roughly 4 weeks remaining to finish the project, our first zone is almost ready. I will stick up a screenshot soon.

Models in the pipeline!

For the dead trees around the forest I created one main model:

But with rotatio and resize, the same model could be used to create smaller branches and thus larger dead trees:

I made smaller models to scatter around as foliage:

(it's a fern)

see!

The soultree I built in 2 sections, the trunk, and the canopy. The canopy was designed not to really be seen, except in silhouette.

For the steps up too the soul tree I made a small mesh that was easily repeatable:
